Sergen Sergen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Zawacki having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, Gilbert Incorvaia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meerkats FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Attard Gunners the free kick. After 12 played minutes Meerkats FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Incorvaia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergen Sergen in the 14th minute of play forced Meerkats FC's goalkeeper Pankracy Zawacki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Shaun De Battista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Jowsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Attard Gunners was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Trigona to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Sergen Sergen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pankracy Zawacki was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 23rd minute of the game Aleksander Zapolski made a throw-in which Gilbert Incorvaia played forward. Jay Jowsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amir Abou Jisser's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After some careless play in the Meerkats FC defense, Sergen Sergen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pankracy Zawacki. The Meerkats FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pankracy Zawacki should have stopped the shot. Jay Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amir Abou Jisser in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Aleksander Zapolski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Attard Gunners from getting a goal against them. 41 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goalkeeper Jay Jowsey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amir Abou Jisser. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joshua Sammut Castelletti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amir Abou Jisser couldn't finish the play. When Aleksander Zapolski was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. Meerkats FC's Pankracy Zawacki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergen Sergen in the 57th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Jean Carl Cassar Torreggiani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Louis Naudi hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. If Aron Ghinescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Attard Gunners getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Jean Carl Cassar Torreggiani hit a great ball. Attard Gunners made a substitution. Alan Said replaced Sergen Sergen. In the 72nd minute, Jean Carl Cassar Torreggiani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aron Ghinescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jay Jowsey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Jay Jowsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Coleiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
