He was immediately shown a red card. 3 minutes into the game, one of Sliema Dragons FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mike Axisa went to the wrong direction when John Said was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Sliema Dragons FC's Ulises Ixidor got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mike Axisa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludomil Koczara in the 10th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, John Said put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mike Axisa. After 20 played minutes Filfla United got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Francalanza. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kim Bolas got free with Etienne Blanco in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John Said scored 0-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mike Axisa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kim Bolas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Etienne Blanco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Said in the 27th minute of play. When Giovanni Demicoli fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sliema Dragons FC's protests and gave Giovanni Demicoli a yellow card for diving instead. Giovanni Demicoli hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ulises Ixidor hit a great ball. Oliver Francalanza made in the 32nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Sliema Dragons FC's Giovanni Demicoli. Mike Axisa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Afloarei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Said in the 40th minute of play. Mike Axisa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Afloarei, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the match, Filfla United's goalkeeper Etienne Blanco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kim Bolas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kim Bolas in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Etienne Blanco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Filfla United's Tony Soprano got a free kick in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kim Bolas to strike the kick off in the second half. Etienne Blanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kim Bolas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Tony Soprano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kim Bolas came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Sliema Dragons FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kim Bolas couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa got control of the ball when Ludomil Koczara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mike Axisa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludomil Koczara in the 64th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Ludomil Koczara put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Mike Axisa. Mike Axisa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ludomil Koczara in the 69th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Filfla United's Dragoş Afloarei slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mike Axisa. That made the score 0-4 after 73 minutes of play. Etienne Blanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dejan Cassar in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Ludomil Koczara dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mike Axisa, 0-5. Mike Axisa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ludomil Koczara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dragoş Afloarei took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mike Axisa. Mike Axisa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dejan Cassar in the 96th minute of play forced Filfla United's goalkeeper Etienne Blanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filfla United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
