The audience thought a goal was coming when Kim Bolas got free with Ján Oblak in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sliema Dragons FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Neil Degabriele was slow to take the kick. During this time Seraċini Għawdxin's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Neil Degabriele got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mike Axisa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Song Wei Yun in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mike Axisa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Giovanni Demicoli hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Mike Axisa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Negro in the 42nd minute of play. Ján Oblak made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Kim Bolas sent off a good shot on target. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kim Bolas was the one to do the kick off. With 51 minutes on the clock, Gábor Illés commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 50 minutes into the game, one of Sliema Dragons FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mike Axisa went to the wrong direction when Neil Degabriele was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Mike Axisa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dejan Cassar in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ján Oblak saved Seraċini Għawdxin from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Dejan Cassar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ján Oblak was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Dejan Cassar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ján Oblak having to make a save. Seraċini Għawdxin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Neil Degabriele in the 89th minute. The corner led Seraċini Għawdxin's Neil Degabriele to fire away a dangerous shot which Mike Axisa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 93rd minute Song Wei Yun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Axisa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Seraċini Għawdxin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Neil Degabriele in the 94th minute. 98 minutes into the game, Dejan Cassar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Ján Oblak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Many of Seraċini Għawdxin's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Seraċini Għawdxin may have spent more time on the ball, but Sliema Dragons FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
