Spectators: 10864 (Terracing: 8149, Seating: 2499, VIP seats: 216) Kyle Thake started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Amir Abou Jisser's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mats Sangolt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. Matt Carabott charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matt Carabott the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Meerkats FC. Aleksander Zapolski stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mats Sangolt. 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, Floriana Celtics's goal looked a bit too open when Aron Ghinescu came free, but Mats Sangolt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amir Abou Jisser's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mats Sangolt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meerkats FC's goalkeeper Pankracy Zawacki, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner led Floriana Celtics's Samuel Lentini to fire away a dangerous shot which Pankracy Zawacki despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Floriana Celtics's Kyle Thake nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pankracy Zawacki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Pankracy Zawacki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Thake in the 16th minute of the match. Pankracy Zawacki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Thake, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Kyle Thake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfred Coleiro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 22nd playminute. In the 25thth minute of the game Aron Ghinescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Floriana Celtics's Mats Sangolt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pankracy Zawacki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgio Caruana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pankracy Zawacki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Thake in the 32nd minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Meerkats FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Thake came free, but Pankracy Zawacki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Meerkats FC's Pankracy Zawacki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyle Thake in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Meerkats FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Oliver Ahlroth hit a great ball. Aleksander Zapolski charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in Floriana Celtics's zone, Aron Ghinescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mats Sangolt came out of the goal and Aron Ghinescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pankracy Zawacki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgio Caruana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Meerkats FC defense, Giorgio Caruana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pankracy Zawacki. The Meerkats FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pankracy Zawacki should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-4 lead.

In the 51st minute, George Axiaq hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 53 minutes into the match, Floriana Celtics's goal looked a bit too open when Aron Ghinescu came free, but Mats Sangolt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Aron Ghinescu made a precise shot to the right of Mats Sangolt. Floriana Celtics's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4. In the 59th minute, Giorgio Caruana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Floriana Celtics made a substitution. Fredrik Markusson replaced Godwin Montesin. Floriana Celtics's Alex Testaferrata Viani was substituted for Giorgio Caruana. Mats Sangolt came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Meerkats FC's Amir Abou Jisser. But to his dismay, Amir Abou Jisser quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. Pankracy Zawacki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Testaferrata Viani in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aron Ghinescu in the 69th minute of play forced Floriana Celtics's goalkeeper Mats Sangolt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Aron Ghinescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mats Sangolt was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-4. If Amir Abou Jisser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74th play minutes Alex Testaferrata Viani shot 5-5, a short shot which went by Pankracy Zawacki and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, Meerkats FC's Oliver Ahlroth got a free kick in the 80th minute. Floriana Celtics's Matt Carabott shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 80th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pankracy Zawacki but with some difficulty. Mats Sangolt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amir Abou Jisser, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Pankracy Zawacki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kyle Thake in the 84th minute. Pankracy Zawacki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Testaferrata Viani in the 87th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Testaferrata Viani got free with Pankracy Zawacki in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kyle Thake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
