Leon Coleiro came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Filfla United's John Said. But to his dismay, John Said quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Filfla United's Dragoş Afloarei in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye VALLETTA WHITE STARS's goalie prevented a goal. Etienne Blanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cedric Pace Asciak in the 16th minute of the match. VALLETTA WHITE STARS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dragoş Afloarei 17 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Etienne Blanco came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Ciro Pellegrini. But to his dismay, Ciro Pellegrini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 27th match minute, VALLETTA WHITE STARS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paavo Andersson to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th match minute, Filfla United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dragoş Afloarei to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes VALLETTA WHITE STARS got a freekick which was hit by Cedric Pace Asciak. The audience was convinced that Dragoş Afloarei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leon Coleiro was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Filfla United were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after VALLETTA WHITE STARS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Egon Lång took the corner. In the 38th minute, Cedric Pace Asciak ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Etienne Blanco was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. John Said sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Leon Coleiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save VALLETTA WHITE STARS from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Frederick Caruana made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game John Said who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Leon Coleiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 54th minute, John Said ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leon Coleiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Said in the 61st minute of play forced VALLETTA WHITE STARS's goalkeeper Leon Coleiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frederick Caruana came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Etienne Blanco could save by the left post. In the 70th minute Cedric Pace Asciak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Etienne Blanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Massimo Mizzi was substituted for Ciro Pellegrini. In the 73rd minute, Ciro Pellegrini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Coleiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Said, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Dragoş Afloarei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Filfla United's supporters rose to their feet, but Dragoş Afloarei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leon Coleiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leon Coleiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John Said's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Jake Spiteri was substituted for Frederick Caruana. In the 84th minute, one of VALLETTA WHITE STARS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for VALLETTA WHITE STARS. John Said sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dragoş Afloarei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Leon Coleiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Jake Spiteri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
