After a rather tough play, Esch‑sur‑Alzette's Silvester Müller got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Noah Goldstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Noah Goldstein sped through Royal Lëtzebuerg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Donald Rosenkranz. In the 11th minute of the game, Dagobert Mutzel landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Edward Auspitz fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal Lëtzebuerg's protests and gave Edward Auspitz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Royal Lëtzebuerg getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Edward Auspitz hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, Royal Lëtzebuerg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Juncker to maneuver through the defense. Harold Friedrich charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harold Friedrich the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Esch‑sur‑Alzette getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Harold Friedrich hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noah Goldstein in the 29th minute of play forced Royal Lëtzebuerg's goalkeeper Donald Rosenkranz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eddie von Fürstenberg during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eddie von Fürstenberg hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Noah Goldstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harold Friedrich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Donald Rosenkranz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donald Rosenkranz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Noah Goldstein's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 43rd minute, Kurt Reuter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute Noah Goldstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Rosenkranz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Eddie von Fürstenberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Eddie von Fürstenberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Esch‑sur‑Alzette fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After having played for 59 minutes, Emil Altschuler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Royal Lëtzebuerg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emil Altschuler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Harold Friedrich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Royal Lëtzebuerg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Noah Goldstein scored to the left of an out of position Donald Rosenkranz, making the score, 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolas Baumgartl during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 83 played minutes Esch‑sur‑Alzette got a freekick which was hit by Nicolas Baumgartl. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Noah Goldstein managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esch‑sur‑Alzette's supporters rose to their feet, but Noah Goldstein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Rosenkranz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Esch‑sur‑Alzette's Noah Goldstein got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eddie von Fürstenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noah Goldstein might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donald Rosenkranz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Noah Goldstein ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Esch‑sur‑Alzette could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Royal Lëtzebuerg throughout the match.
