With his leg Christian Colelli managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Pinocchio FC's Edoardo Piermattei fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 18 minutes of play Pinocchio FC's Attilio Caporale was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Attilio Caporale kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, SIMPSON FC's Fabiano Banana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabrizio Muto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Beppe Balestra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Christian Colelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edoardo Piermattei in the 24th minute. Cristoforo Di Dio kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristoforo Di Dio in the 31st minute of play forced Pinocchio FC's goalkeeper Fabrizio Muto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Fabiano Banana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Fabrizio Muto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabiano Banana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabrizio Muto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Pinocchio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano Banana came free, but Fabrizio Muto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pinocchio FC's zone, Fabiano Banana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabrizio Muto came out of the goal and Fabiano Banana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th match minute, SIMPSON FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniele Benvenuto to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabiano Banana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edoardo Piermattei scored 1-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Colelli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabiano Banana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrizio Muto having to interfere. Alvise Contaldi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabrizio Muto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano Banana in the 71st minute of play. When Edoardo Piermattei came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Pinocchio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edoardo Piermattei couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the match, SIMPSON FC's goal looked a bit too open when Beppe Balestra came free, but Christian Colelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristoforo Di Dio during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pinocchio FC booed when SIMPSON FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristoforo Di Dio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edoardo Piermattei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Colelli having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pinocchio FC's zone, Fabiano Banana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabrizio Muto came out of the goal and Fabiano Banana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Colelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edoardo Piermattei in the 89th minute of the match. Edoardo Piermattei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
