Fabrizio Muto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvise Contaldi in the 10th minute. Alvise Contaldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fabrizio Muto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SIMPSON FC's zone, Edoardo Piermattei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Colelli came out of the goal and Edoardo Piermattei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute, Edoardo Piermattei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Edoardo Piermattei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian Colelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Attilio Caporale in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind SIMPSON FC's goalkeeper Christian Colelli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edoardo Piermattei in the 48th minute of play forced SIMPSON FC's goalkeeper Christian Colelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabiano Banana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabrizio Muto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvise Contaldi in the 52nd minute of play. 1-1 became the score in the 53rd minute when Fabiano Banana elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Armin Rossini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edoardo Piermattei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Christian Colelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SIMPSON FC's Cristoforo Di Dio got a free kick in the 59th minute. Beppe Balestra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edoardo Piermattei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Colelli having to interfere. The supporters of SIMPSON FC booed when Pinocchio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Caporale didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alvise Contaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 80 minutes, Alvise Contaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SIMPSON FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvise Contaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabiano Banana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Alvise Contaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrizio Muto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Beppe Balestra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinocchio FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Beppe Balestra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Colelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SIMPSON FC had won after a very even match.
