When Ferdinando Bassi fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U.S Calcio Syracusae's protests and gave Ferdinando Bassi a yellow card for diving instead. Ferdinando Bassi hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Emiliano Lozzi came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by U.S Calcio Syracusae's Flavio Bordon. But to his dismay, Flavio Bordon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amos Ferraris made a kick off. Christian Lozzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filippo Baur in the 60th minute of the match. Amos Ferraris got in the 65th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Christian Lozzi handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Fabiano Del Grosso took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emiliano Lozzi. Virtus Olimpia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in U.S Calcio Syracusae's zone, Filippo Baur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Lozzi came out of the goal and Filippo Baur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Virtus Olimpia's Filippo Baur in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U.S Calcio Syracusae's goalie prevented a goal. Christian Lozzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Nero, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Virtus Olimpia's Filippo Baur got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filippo Baur struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Christian Lozzi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Virtus Olimpia. Virtus Olimpia were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
