Spectators: 7345 (Terracing: 5511, Seating: 1689, VIP seats: 145) After 3 minutes, Antonello Nanni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cosenza and the Villa Gordiani players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Villa Gordiani booed when Cosenza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonello Nanni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Matteucci kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. If Alvaro Marcon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fedele Marsilio came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Villa Gordiani's Elia Sorge. But to his dismay, Elia Sorge quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Cosimo Maiorano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ennio Baldassarre's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Augusto Di Nunzio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosimo Maiorano having to interfere. After 19 minutes of play, Cosenza's Ennio Baldassarre made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cosimo Maiorano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cosimo Maiorano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Di Nunzio in the 22nd minute of the match. Ciccio Demaria was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. The referee gave Cosenza a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alvaro Marcon, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Villa Gordiani's Cosimo Maiorano. 1-2. In the 29th match minute, Villa Gordiani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Paolini to maneuver through the defense. Cosimo Maiorano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Marcon, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Villa Gordiani's Alberto Vago got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, Antonello Nanni cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Cosimo Maiorano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 35th minute, Augusto Di Nunzio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antonello Nanni hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Augusto Di Nunzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cosenza's Augusto Di Nunzio in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villa Gordiani's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Alvaro Marcon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cosenza's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvaro Marcon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosimo Maiorano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Villa Gordiani players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cosenza were winning 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ennio Baldassarre was the one to do the kick off. Alvaro Marcon kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Cosenza's Alvaro Marcon got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Franco Napoleoni charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Franco Napoleoni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes Cosenza got a freekick which was hit by Franco Napoleoni. 58 minutes into the game, Ennio Baldassarre cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Cosimo Maiorano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelio Maietta during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Augusto Di Nunzio got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 1-5 in the right cross in the 70th match minute before Cosimo Maiorano had time to react. Ennio Baldassarre might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cosimo Maiorano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ennio Baldassarre ran back to his position shaking his head. Alvaro Marcon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Di Nunzio in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cosimo Maiorano saved Villa Gordiani from getting behind. Antonello Nanni might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cosimo Maiorano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonello Nanni ran back to his position shaking his head. 88 minutes into the game, Augusto Di Nunzio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Cosimo Maiorano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ennio Baldassarre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Augusto Di Nunzio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cosimo Maiorano. Villa Gordiani's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Di Nunzio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Cosenza played a much better game than Villa Gordiani and deserved their victory. The Villa Gordiani players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
