The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, A.c Tre dei Frati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Cruciani to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the game, Fabrizio Boccanera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.c Tre dei Frati's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cittadella AFC the free kick. In the 5th minute, one of A.c Tre dei Frati:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for A.c Tre dei Frati. In the 7th minute there was a penalty for Cittadella AFC. Aurelio Bosso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emiliano Graziano. 0-1. Timmie Spierenburg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Mieszko Lato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Cesare Casciano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cittadella AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 25th minute Raimundo Lorenz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Graziano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, A.c Tre dei Frati's goal looked a bit too open when Cesare Casciano came free, but Emiliano Graziano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Graziano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesare Casciano in the 37th minute of play. Ciro Suriani hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After 45 played minutes, Cittadella AFC's Aurelio Bosso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emiliano Graziano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cittadella AFC reached it. The A.c Tre dei Frati players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciro Suriani made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Granata in the 54th minute of play forced Cittadella AFC's goalkeeper Mieszko Lato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Bonanni struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Emiliano Graziano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cittadella AFC. Emiliano Graziano was a little too slow when Biagio Sammartano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 0-3. 65 minutes into the match, Cittadella AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Suriani came free, but Mieszko Lato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A.c Tre dei Frati's Emiliano Graziano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesare Casciano in the 69th minute of play. Timmie Spierenburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Timmie Spierenburg in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mieszko Lato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emiliano Graziano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Bonanni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, Cittadella AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Granata came free, but Mieszko Lato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Cittadella AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cittadella AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
