To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Baura's Dino Bernardi got control of the ball when Martin Ivaňo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Sporting Roma's Ciro Natale dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After having played for 37 minutes, Ciro Natale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Natale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baura's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. In the 101st minute, Eraldo Lattanzio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sporting Roma had played much better football throughout.
