In the 4th minute, Ciro Natale reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Enrico Piccirilli. The goal made the score 1-0. Martin Ivaňo might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrico Piccirilli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martin Ivaňo ran back to his position shaking his head. Ciro Natale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Ivaňo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enrico Piccirilli having to make a save. 19 minutes into the game, Alma Juventus Fano's Domenico Pagliarini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pavlin Popsavov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 21st minute Daniele Biagetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavlin Popsavov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Roma's Pavlin Popsavov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Prandini in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Ciro Natale dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Enrico Piccirilli, 3-1. Pavlin Popsavov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Prandini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 36 minutes into the game, when Comunardo Leone put in a rough tackle. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sporting Roma! Martin Ivaňo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Enrico Piccirilli when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pavlin Popsavov came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Alma Juventus Fano's Flavio Prandini. But to his dismay, Flavio Prandini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Domenico Pagliarini made a kick off. Enrico Piccirilli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Ivaňo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Domenico Pagliarini took a quick shot and it went in 3-4 without a chance for Pavlin Popsavov to make any attempt to save it. Enrico Piccirilli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Ivaňo in the 62nd minute of the match. Cosimo Brini struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Enrico Piccirilli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Roma. If Martin Ivaňo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sporting Roma's Antonello Di Maio got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute Domenico Pagliarini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavlin Popsavov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domenico Pagliarini took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pavlin Popsavov. Pavlin Popsavov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5. 78 minutes into the game, Domenico Olivieri recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pavlin Popsavov. Domenico Olivieri showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-6. In the 87th minute, Cosimo Brini made a precise shot to the right of Enrico Piccirilli. Alma Juventus Fano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-6. Martin Ivaňo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrico Piccirilli having to interfere. Martin Ivaňo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrico Piccirilli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martin Ivaňo ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Alma Juventus Fano eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
