The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Comunardo Sarnelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Comunardo Sarnelli got free with Daniele Giacchetti in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Damiano Piccioli came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Shock Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damiano Piccioli couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, SS Milazzo's goalkeeper Daniele Giacchetti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Comunardo Sarnelli. SS Milazzo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Dino Di Vito scored to the left of an out of position Daniele Giacchetti, making the score, 1-0. After 16 played minutes SS Milazzo got a freekick which was hit by Emanuele Abete. In the 20th minute, Dino Di Vito made a precise shot to the right of Daniele Giacchetti. SS Milazzo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. With 23 minutes on the clock, Carlo De Iuliis commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Carlo De Iuliis kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Dino Di Vito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andrea Daniele could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Daniele Giacchetti made a huge save. Felice Scrima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute, Attilio Allegretti made a precise shot to the right of Cristiano Melfi. Shock Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Cristiano Melfi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fortunato Iacobucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fortunato Iacobucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Cristiano Melfi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shock Team's Cristiano Melfi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Allegretti in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Cristiano Melfi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Scrima in the 53rd minute of play. Daniele Giacchetti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damiano Piccioli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristiano Melfi stood somewhat misplaced when Attilio Allegretti came free in front of goal and shot 2-2 to the left of him in the 62 minute. An unexpected shot in the 66th minute by Attilio Allegretti got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 73 minutes, Comunardo Sarnelli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shock Team and the SS Milazzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, SS Milazzo's Felice Scrima ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cristiano Melfi. Cristiano Melfi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Felice Scrima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Cristiano Melfi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Felice Scrima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, SS Milazzo's Attilio Allegretti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristiano Melfi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5.
