A collision led to Castelnuovo getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Federico Garofalo hit a great ball. Castelnuovo's Aldo Prandini got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 11th minute when Claudio Sciotto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudio Sciotto got free with Achille Tripodi in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Prandini in the 18th minute of play forced Santa Filomena FC's goalkeeper Achille Tripodi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anfilogino Stefano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Tripodi having to interfere. When Ciro Sabatini fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Filomena FC's protests and gave Ciro Sabatini a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Ciro Sabatini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Santa Filomena FC defense, Aldo Prandini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Achille Tripodi. The Santa Filomena FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Achille Tripodi should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Claudio Sciotto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Achille Tripodi. Santa Filomena FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudio Sciotto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Achille Tripodi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aldo Prandini showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 35 minute of play. Santa Filomena FC's Achille Tripodi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Filomena FC from getting a goal against them. Achille Tripodi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aldo Prandini's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 41stth minute of the game Aldo Prandini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Filomena FC's Achille Tripodi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aldo Prandini made a kick off. When Aldo Prandini came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Castelnuovo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aldo Prandini couldn't finish the play. 53 minutes into the match, Santa Filomena FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aldo Prandini came free, but Achille Tripodi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Achille Tripodi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Prandini in the 55th minute of play. Achille Tripodi came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Castelnuovo's Anfilogino Stefano. But to his dismay, Anfilogino Stefano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 60th minute, Santa Filomena FC's Carter Lelli seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Carter Lelli the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Santa Filomena FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carter Lelli had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Castelnuovo's Ferdinando Albertosi was substituted for Comunardo Barillari. The referee gave Castelnuovo a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alfonso Catini, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Santa Filomena FC's Achille Tripodi. 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Prandini in the 67th minute of play forced Santa Filomena FC's goalkeeper Achille Tripodi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th match minute, Santa Filomena FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Sabatini to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Prandini in the 78th minute of play forced Santa Filomena FC's goalkeeper Achille Tripodi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdinando Albertosi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Achille Tripodi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Castelnuovo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
