Gordon Forrest had several of the Marinas's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 17 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Ferdinando Macchia as he didn't even see the shot coming. Damiano Chitarroni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Bassa Valle FC's goal looked a bit too open when Damiano Chitarroni came free, but Eugenio Mazzocco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gordon Forrest in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdinando Macchia saved Marinas from getting behind. Damiano Chitarroni struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Eugenio Mazzocco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marinas. In the 30thth minute of the game Francesco Corna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marinas's Ferdinando Macchia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emanuele Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Damiano Chitarroni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Mazzocco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Edoardo Romanese left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marinas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Damiano Chitarroni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Mazzocco having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damiano Chitarroni to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Edoardo Romanese kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eugenio Mazzocco. That made the score 1-4 in the 58 minute of play. Bassa Valle FC's Gordon Forrest got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Gordon Forrest had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ferdinando Macchia. Marinas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gordon Forrest was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4.
