Spectators: 7985 (Terracing: 5990, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 159) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Dave Moreschi made the kick off which started today's match. After 5 played minutes Ginnastica Mentale got a freekick which was hit by Dave Moreschi. Spirito Vincente's Armando Mansueto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Moreschi in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Alfonso Proietto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spirito Vincente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 17th minute, Alfonso Proietto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ermanno Di Rocco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some careless play in the Spirito Vincente defense, Franco Di Leonardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armando Mansueto. The Spirito Vincente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armando Mansueto should have stopped the shot. Armando Mansueto made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Fabio Sciamanna sent off a good shot on target. Armando Mansueto came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Ginnastica Mentale's Biagio Rosi. But to his dismay, Biagio Rosi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biagio Rosi in the 32nd minute of play forced Spirito Vincente's goalkeeper Armando Mansueto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dave Moreschi got free with Armando Mansueto in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Gelsomini hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Ermanno Di Rocco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Proietto, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute Franco Di Leonardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Mansueto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Spirito Vincente's goalkeeper Armando Mansueto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dave Moreschi. The audience was convinced that Dave Moreschi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Mansueto was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Proietto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabio Sciamanna might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Mansueto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabio Sciamanna ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 53rd minute, Bernardo Tamburrini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dave Moreschi struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Armando Mansueto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ginnastica Mentale. In the 57th minute, Edmondo Miccio made a precise shot to the right of Armando Mansueto. Spirito Vincente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. After a defensive mix-up in Spirito Vincente's zone, Franco Di Leonardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Mansueto came out of the goal and Franco Di Leonardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dave Moreschi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Mansueto having to make a save. After 65 minutes, Dave Moreschi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ginnastica Mentale and the Spirito Vincente players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th minute Alberto Gelsomini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Mansueto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dave Moreschi was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Ginnastica Mentale's Dave Moreschi got a free kick in the 68th minute. Franco Di Leonardo struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Armando Mansueto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ginnastica Mentale. Alfonso Proietto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Ermanno Di Rocco made a huge save. Anfilogino Conte kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Armando Mansueto came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Ginnastica Mentale's Fabio Sciamanna. But to his dismay, Fabio Sciamanna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Ginnastica Mentale's Ermanno Di Rocco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Ginnastica Mentale from getting a goal against them. Armando Mansueto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Biagio Rosi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, Ginnastica Mentale's Fabio Sciamanna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armando Mansueto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ginnastica Mentale fans cheered their team off the field, for while Spirito Vincente had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
