Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dennis Ferrini hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Vespolate's Frank Fabrizi got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ciccio Berardo fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Rieti's protests and gave Ciccio Berardo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Rieti's Ciccio Berardo got a free kick in the 11th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmondo Domenghini got free with Hans Stenqvist in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo De Marchi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hans Stenqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, FC Rieti's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Fabrizi came free, but Hans Stenqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Fabrizi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Stenqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmondo Domenghini went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Frank Fabrizi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Hans Stenqvist when he managed to save the team from getting behind. During the 41st minute of the match Ciccio Berardo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ciccio Berardo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 41st minute, Ciccio Berardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hans Stenqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrea Ciarrocchi in the 42nd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Giancola to make the kick off. Alfredo De Marchi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vespolate's Frank Fabrizi in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Rieti's goalie prevented a goal. In the 58th minute, Edmondo Domenghini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, FC Rieti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ennio Manzo to maneuver through the defense. FC Rieti's Hans Stenqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrico Palombi in the 63rd minute of play. After 67 minutes of play, Vespolate's Frank Fabrizi made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hans Stenqvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! 72 minutes into the match, FC Rieti's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Fabrizi came free, but Hans Stenqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Rieti's zone, Edmondo Domenghini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Stenqvist came out of the goal and Edmondo Domenghini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hans Stenqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrea Ciarrocchi, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. A collision led to Vespolate getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Edmondo Domenghini hit a great ball. The supporters of FC Rieti booed when Vespolate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmondo Domenghini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmondo Domenghini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Hans Stenqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Frank Fabrizi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Rieti players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vespolate.
