If Federico Riva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute Diego Torelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Dionisi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Sammartano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to garbatella getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alberigo Della Torre hit a great ball. After 20 minutes of play, garbatella's Ettore Vespucci made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Dionisi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Flavio Zacchia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Alessio Di Paolo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 27 minutes, Biagio Maestri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guantai and the garbatella players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guantai's Biagio Maestri got a free kick in the 27th minute. Ferdinando Di Giulio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eugenio Dionisi. Guantai's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Torelli in the 30th minute of play forced Guantai's goalkeeper Eugenio Dionisi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donato Sammartano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 34 minutes into the game, garbatella's Alberto Trombetta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eugenio Dionisi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 36 played minutes Guantai got a freekick which was hit by Federico Riva. The corner led garbatella's Diego Torelli to fire away a dangerous shot which Eugenio Dionisi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. garbatella's Ettore Vespucci got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diego Torelli was the one to do the kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Guantai's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Trombetta came free, but Eugenio Dionisi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 51st minute Alberto Trombetta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Dionisi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 52 minutes Guantai's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferdinando Di Giulio who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Ferdinando Di Giulio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Guantai's Eugenio Dionisi did a great save. Alberigo Muciaccia was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 64th match minute, garbatella was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domenico Tondi to maneuver through the defense. Alessio Di Paolo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Zacchia, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute Guantai were awarded a corner. Alberigo Muciaccia went to the cornerflag to take it. Guantai's Alberigo Muciaccia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alessio Di Paolo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 67 played minutes garbatella got a freekick which was hit by Christian Gazza. 73 minutes into the match, Guantai's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Trombetta came free, but Eugenio Dionisi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donato Sammartano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Alessio Di Paolo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alessio Di Paolo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flavio Zacchia's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Ettore Vespucci might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugenio Dionisi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ettore Vespucci ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Guerrieri during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Diego Torelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, garbatella's Christian Gazza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eugenio Dionisi. Eugenio Dionisi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. In the 93rd minute Diego Torelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Dionisi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Guantai's goalkeeper Eugenio Dionisi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Trombetta. The Guantai supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching garbatella's performance. The match ended with a win for garbatella.
