Corrado Proia made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Emanuele Mazzei sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute Armando Fabrizi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Månsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Puciu F.C.'s Emanuele Ferraresi got a free kick in the 14th minute. Gösta Ambjörnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gösta Ambjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Puciu F.C.'s Aurelio Ascenzi got a free kick in the 19th minute. 24 minutes into the game, Grégoire Cabañas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Corrado Proia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 29 minutes into the match, Ostia Antica AFC's Gösta Ambjörnsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Corrado Proia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th minute, one of Puciu F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Puciu F.C.. Corrado Proia went to the wrong direction when Anselmo Lazzaro was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Ambjörnsson in the 34th minute of play forced Puciu F.C.'s goalkeeper Corrado Proia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corrado Proia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gösta Ambjörnsson's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Grégoire Cabañas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Corrado Proia. Puciu F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grégoire Cabañas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When Grégoire Cabañas came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Ostia Antica AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grégoire Cabañas couldn't finish the play. Elia Bearzot's late challenge caught a Puciu F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elia Bearzot helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Puciu F.C. booed when Ostia Antica AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elia Bearzot didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute of the match Aurelio Ascenzi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tobias Månsson skillfully saved the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Emanuele Mazzei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corrado Proia having to interfere. Ostia Antica AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gösta Ambjörnsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gösta Ambjörnsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Corrado Proia was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Elia Bearzot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86thth minute of the game Gösta Ambjörnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Puciu F.C.'s Corrado Proia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 95 played minutes Puciu F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Emanuele Ferraresi.
