Concetto Liberati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Piola, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 39 played minutes Axa got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Manzoni. The audience was convinced that Alberigo Marchetti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Sansoni was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alvaro Piola to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes San Giorgio got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Masetti. After a rather tough play, San Giorgio's Cristiano Pavlu got a free kick in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in San Giorgio's zone, Alberigo Marchetti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Sansoni came out of the goal and Alberigo Marchetti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 72 minutes into the match, Axa's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Morini came free, but Concetto Liberati reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberigo Marchetti in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto Sansoni saved San Giorgio from getting behind. After 78 played minutes San Giorgio got a freekick which was hit by Davide Marini. When Elia Volta fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Giorgio's protests and gave Elia Volta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Axa booed when San Giorgio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elia Volta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Sansoni made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Alberigo Marchetti sent off a good shot on target.
