Spectators: 8423 (Terracing: 6318, Seating: 1937, VIP seats: 168) Martesana Inter's Armando Toninelli started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 20th minute Armando Toninelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano Micarelli in the 42nd minute of play forced Martesana Inter's goalkeeper Emilio Spada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute Davide Tonon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Spada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Anselmo Palombi fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Martesana Inter's protests and gave Anselmo Palombi a yellow card for diving instead. Sten Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Fontana in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Martesana Inter's Fausto Fontana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sten Lundgren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After a rather tough play, Martesana Inter's Jorge Olmos got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Martesana Inter's Emilio Spada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Toni in the 93rd minute of play. Luponero FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
