Gavellese fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when U.P. Gavellese's Ulysses Lucas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Ulysses Lucas took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Josué Macedo to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the U.P. Gavellese defense, Gheorghe Hagi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Mazza. The U.P. Gavellese fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Mazza should have stopped the shot. Freddie Vennerberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Josué Macedo made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulysses Lucas got free with Josué Macedo in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jacob Madruga might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacob Madruga ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute, Freddie Vennerberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U.P. Gavellese fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1.
