After having played for 3 minutes, Panait Stolniciu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC SOLOTHURN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Panait Stolniciu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Josué Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Concetto Di Iulio in the 5th minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Andrea Mirto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Josué Macedo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 9 minutes into the match, FC SOLOTHURN's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Desiderio came free, but Josué Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josué Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Desiderio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Campania Athletic Club's goalkeeper Cane Di Dio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cane Di Dio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gheorghe Hagi in the 16th minute of play. Concetto Di Iulio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Macedo having to interfere. Anfilogino Sasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Cane Di Dio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cane Di Dio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anfilogino Sasso in the 25th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flavio Desiderio in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josué Macedo saved FC SOLOTHURN from getting behind. After 43 played minutes Campania Athletic Club got a freekick which was hit by Rodel Francisco. Josué Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Concetto Di Iulio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Anfilogino Sasso made the kick off in the second half. Josué Macedo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Peppino Ibrahimovic. Thanks to some nice moves Flavio Desiderio could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Josué Macedo however easily saved by the left post. In the 59th minute, Flavio Desiderio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Josué Macedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 62nd match minute, Campania Athletic Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peppino Ibrahimovic to maneuver through the defense. Josué Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Concetto Di Iulio in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob Madruga in the 66th minute of play forced Campania Athletic Club's goalkeeper Cane Di Dio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josué Macedo made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Flavio Desiderio sent off a good shot on target. When Panait Stolniciu came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the FC SOLOTHURN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panait Stolniciu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Hagi in the 71st minute of play forced Campania Athletic Club's goalkeeper Cane Di Dio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, FC SOLOTHURN's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Di Iulio came free, but Josué Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Achille Ciolli hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After 75 played minutes FC SOLOTHURN got a freekick which was hit by Achille Ciolli. Andrea Mirto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 78th minute Ragnar Vennegoor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC SOLOTHURN's Josué Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ragnar Vennegoor in the 78th minute of play. Arturo Ferrara's late challenge caught a FC SOLOTHURN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arturo Ferrara helped the player get up and apologised. After 79 played minutes Campania Athletic Club got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Ferrara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob Madruga in the 80th minute of play forced Campania Athletic Club's goalkeeper Cane Di Dio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led FC SOLOTHURN's Frank Di Fonzo to fire away a dangerous shot which Cane Di Dio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Ragnar Vennegoor notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC SOLOTHURN's Josué Macedo. Josué Macedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Campania Athletic Club's Franco Sessa was substituted for Flavio Desiderio. In the 88th match minute, Campania Athletic Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmondo Biagetti to maneuver through the defense. FC SOLOTHURN's Fausto Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, Fausto Massa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cane Di Dio. Campania Athletic Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Massa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The Campania Athletic Club players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
