Anfilogino Bianchini got a throw-in 13 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dario Strazzabosco. 15 minutes into the match, Soliera's goalkeeper Adriano Pappalardo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Endre Austnes. Endre Austnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Pappalardo having to interfere. Ciro Donati struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Dennis Carrea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soliera. Hüsnü Kapar took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dennis Carrea. Dennis Carrea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Endre Austnes was the one to do the kick off. Endre Austnes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adriano Pappalardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Vaffancalcio's Soner Şükür was substituted for Steve Valk. Soliera made a substitution. Enrico Grieco replaced Hüsnü Kapar. Vaffancalcio made a substitution. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Di Clemente in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adriano Pappalardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Concetto Maccarone who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Dennis Carrea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 81st minute, Alberto Di Clemente ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adriano Pappalardo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 84 played minutes Soliera got a freekick which was hit by Rúben Prestes. After some careless play in the Soliera defense, Alberto Di Clemente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adriano Pappalardo. The Soliera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adriano Pappalardo should have stopped the shot. Dennis Carrea stood somewhat misplaced when Concetto Maccarone came free in front of goal and shot 3-2 to the left of him in the 91 minute. In the 93rd minute, Peker Ersed left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soliera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Di Clemente in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adriano Pappalardo saved Soliera from getting behind.
