The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, József Buday got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kázmér Demeter in the 8th minute of play forced Újlõrincfalva Spartacus's goalkeeper Antal Takács to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Újlõrincfalva Spartacus's goal looked a bit too open when József Buday came free, but Antal Takács reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Kázmér Demeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antal Takács saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Mihály Miklós had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Csanád Jánosi. Szabolcs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mihály Miklós was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Szabolcs's supporters crossed their fingers, but József Buday was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. József Buday fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antal Takács having to interfere. Bertalan Fenyves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antal Takács having to interfere. Antal Takács didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from József Buday went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vencel Szakál stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. József Buday received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Antal Takács tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Szabolcs's Kázmér Demeter got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 61 played minutes Újlõrincfalva Spartacus got a freekick which was hit by Rudolf Dala. 62 minutes into the game, Vencel Szakál cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Csanád Jánosi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Antal Takács made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when József Buday sent off a good shot on target. Szabolcs's Csanád Jánosi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihály Miklós in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, József Buday had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antal Takács.
