In the 19th minute, SC Anderlecht's Tamás Vida ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pál Kis. Pál Kis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Antal Tímárs short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Pál Kis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Balázs Gervai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pál Kis having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tamás Vida in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pál Kis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Pál Kis managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when SC Anderlecht's Antal Tímár fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 39th minute, Antal Tímár got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antal Tímár sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Tamás Vida made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Kristóf Szőnyi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Szalafõ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Anderlecht the free kick. In the 51st minute, Kristóf Szőnyi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Szalafõ's zone, Antal Tímár stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pál Kis came out of the goal and Antal Tímár tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tamás Vida in the 58th minute of play forced Szalafõ's goalkeeper Pál Kis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pál Kis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tamás Vida, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Miklós Márton acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 66th minute, took the ball on the long shot from András Pataki. If Antal Tímár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Tamás Vida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Viktor Hegedűs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Szalafõ's goal looked a bit too open when Tamás Vida came free, but Pál Kis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Anderlecht's Miklós Márton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gusztáv Borsó in the 77th minute of play. Illés Tokaji kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Norbert Mayer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szalafõ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norbert Mayer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pál Kis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tamás Vida in the 82nd minute of play. Szalafõ's Pál Kis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Tímár in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Szalafõ getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. András Pataki hit a great ball. Tamás Vida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pál Kis having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Antal Tímár's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pál Kis was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Gusztáv Borsó received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Miklós Márton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Anderlecht fully deserved thier win.
