Spectators: 8410 (Terracing: 6308, Seating: 1934, VIP seats: 168) Rapid's Braulio Dacio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Rapid's goalkeeper Antal Pádár had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zsolt Kozák. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Braulio Dacio in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Balázs Kocsis saved Magyarcsanád from getting behind. In the 9th minute of the match Rapid got a corner. Magyarcsanád's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Krisztián Sinkó ran over to the corner to take the kick. Balázs Kocsis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álmos Csáki in the 16th minute of play. Rapid's Antal Pádár played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félix Dobránszky in the 22nd minute of play. Balázs Kocsis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Álmos Csáki went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Márton Kósa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antal Pádár having to interfere. The supporters of Rapid booed when Magyarcsanád was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Placido Ostargi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rapid's Krisztián Sinkó got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Félix Dobránszky was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Braulio Dacio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braulio Dacio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 53 minutes into the game, when Gergely Kovács put in a rough tackle. 53 minutes into the game, one of Rapid:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Balázs Kocsis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Braulio Dacio's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 66th minute of the match, Pál Sugár got a very nice opportunity to score, but Balázs Kocsis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 70thth minute of the game Braulio Dacio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Magyarcsanád's Balázs Kocsis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 73 minutes, Zsolt Kozák mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Magyarcsanád and the Rapid players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 74 played minutes Magyarcsanád got a freekick which was hit by Zsolt Kozák. 80 minutes into the match, Magyarcsanád's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Dacio came free, but Balázs Kocsis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rapid getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. János Kónya hit a great ball. Rapid made a substitution. Rudolf Mátyás replaced Braulio Dacio. After 83 played minutes Rapid got a freekick which was hit by János Kónya. After a rather tough play, Magyarcsanád's Placido Ostargi got a free kick in the 86th minute. Rudolf Mátyás who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Balázs Kocsis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 94th minute, Rudolf Mátyás left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rapid fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The Rapid players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
