The referee showed Krešo Švaljek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, Tomica Janić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind NK SAVA Strmec's goalkeeper Roman Tuna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Gojko Mikas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in NK SAVA Strmec's zone, Tomica Janić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Tuna came out of the goal and Tomica Janić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of NK SAVA Strmec booed when Gornji Bogićevci Standard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vid Mušica didn't get a good kick on the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in NK SAVA Strmec fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Gornji Bogićevci Standard a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roman Tuna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Tomica Janić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Gornji Bogićevci Standard getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Šime Buvac hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

53 minutes into the match, NK SAVA Strmec's Jure Salaj sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zrinko Božić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Relja Repac fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Roman Tuna, passed just outside the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tonči Purić during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. NK SAVA Strmec's supporters rose to their feet, but Jure Salaj was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zrinko Božić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 63rd minute of the match Gojko Mikas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gojko Mikas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 63 played minutes NK SAVA Strmec got a freekick which was hit by Gojko Mikas. Roman Tuna was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomica Janić showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 69 minute of play. Želimir Čolić hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Relja Repac received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gornji Bogićevci Standard eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
