Spectators: 10831 (Terracing: 8124, Seating: 2491, VIP seats: 216) Povratnici's Andrej Palković started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Povratnici got a freekick which was hit by Rueben Hughes. After having played for 7 minutes, Marin Matošin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Povratnici's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marin Matošin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, --Sibenik--'s Nikola Haramina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Višeslav Berend narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Nikola Haramina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Višeslav Berend was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to Povratnici getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Grga Frković hit a great ball. Jasenko Rogošić took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Višeslav Berend. Povratnici's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Borislav Tvrdić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Višeslav Berend read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Povratnici's Eduard Drljača got a free kick in the 35th minute. Jasenko Rogošić struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Višeslav Berend didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for --Sibenik--. Gradimir Venturin hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Povratnici's Romeo Vrhovec got a free kick in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Borislav Tvrdić made the kick off in the second half. Višeslav Berend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Borislav Tvrdić in the 53rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Povratnici's Romeo Vrhovec got a free kick in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jasenko Rogošić in the 56th minute of play forced Povratnici's goalkeeper Višeslav Berend to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, --Sibenik--'s Alen Kovič got control of the ball when Andrej Palković tried to sneak it across the goal line. Višeslav Berend showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jasenko Rogošić in the 62nd minute of the match. Andrej Palković could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Alen Kovič made a huge save. In the 67th minute Povratnici were awarded a corner. Fran Davidović went to the cornerflag to take it. Alen Kovič showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrej Palković, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After 71 played minutes --Sibenik-- got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Perišić. After a rather tough play, Povratnici's Fran Davidović got a free kick in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrej Palković in the 90th minute of play forced --Sibenik--'s goalkeeper Alen Kovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in --Sibenik--'s zone, Andrej Palković stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alen Kovič came out of the goal and Andrej Palković tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
