FC Albi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean-Pierre Gasse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8th minute, Youri Hérard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, Paulo Manzoni had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sabri Defrance. Misérieux's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Manzoni was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. FC Albi's Armand Saint-Jean proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save FC Albi from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the match, FC Albi's Paulo Manzoni sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sabri Defrance narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sabri Defrance took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ange Cazaubon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Ibrahim Auguet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armand Saint-Jean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabri Defrance showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Berthelier, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Misérieux's Renaud Queau got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute, Ange Cazaubon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Misérieux's Sabri Defrance played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ange Cazaubon in the 60th minute of play. In the 89th minute Oscar Peytavin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabri Defrance saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match, Ange Cazaubon tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sabri Defrance saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hocine Bitsch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sabri Defrance made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Paulo Manzoni sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 97 in the game by Paulo Manzoni from a close distance when the talented Sabri Defrance managed to make a qualified save. Misérieux's players were relieved. FC Albi's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
