The referee showed Edgard Hervet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 34 minutes into the match, Chécy's goal looked a bit too open when Dylan Feuillade came free, but Noël Leboulanger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Hervet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jolan Bellone in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Marseille's goalkeeper Faustin Poiré to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Marseille's Edgard Hervet got a free kick in the 44th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

A collision led to Chécy getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cyril Stoecklin hit a great ball. Joffrey Carrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noël Leboulanger having to interfere. Bakary Pagot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noël Leboulanger having to interfere. The supporters of Chécy booed when FC Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bakary Pagot didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of FC Marseille booed when Chécy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gérald Alexandre didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Yves Vazquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
