Paris Batignolles's Richard Vareille played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Ferrière in the 7th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of US Montélimar:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Paris Batignolles:s goal. In the 16thth minute of the game Robert Ferrière who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paris Batignolles's Richard Vareille was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. US Montélimar's Daryl Jonquet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mourad Bouchart in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to US Montélimar getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Herbert Hurel hit a great ball. Richard Vareille showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Ferrière, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpected shot in the 43rd minute by Robert Ferrière got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by Paris Batignolles's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Johan Dufrene was slow to take the kick. During this time US Montélimar's players had a chance to rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Noé Derville to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes US Montélimar got a freekick which was hit by Johan Dufrene. When Wilfried Leveille fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paris Batignolles's protests and gave Wilfried Leveille a yellow card for diving instead. Wilfried Leveille hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. If Robert Ferrière had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute Paris Batignolles were awarded a corner. Élie Belly went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Élie Belly got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Daryl Jonquet quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Richard Vareille made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Ferrière in the 87th minute of play. After having played for 93 minutes, Robert Ferrière managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. US Montélimar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Ferrière was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richard Vareille made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noé Derville in the 94th minute of play. A collision led to Paris Batignolles getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Gustave Greff hit a great ball. In the 98th minute Robert Ferrière shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Vareille saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
