In the 20th minute, Brendan Margerit sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and marseïlle's Yann Aillaud didn't even have to move. The supporters of marseïlle booed when Amiens SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Quesney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danny Girouard took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Maël Le Baron. Amiens SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ryan Lavoisier charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 42nd minute, Eden Laforet made a precise shot to the right of Maël Le Baron. Amiens SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0.

The wind increased when Brendan Margerit made the kick off in the second half. marseïlle's Yann Aillaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steve Boissonnade in the 52nd minute of play. Amiens SC were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after marseïlle's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Brendan Margerit took the corner. The corner ended in Brendan Margerit almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but marseïlle's Yann Aillaud did a great save. In the 56th minute, Brendan Margerit got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 57 minutes, Bertrand Lebert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amiens SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertrand Lebert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Simon Mugnier fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Steve Boissonnade took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yann Aillaud. Yann Aillaud dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Brendan Margerit blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yann Aillaud having to make a save. Steve Boissonnade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steve Boissonnade in the 78th minute of play forced marseïlle's goalkeeper Yann Aillaud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Steve Boissonnade came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Amiens SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Boissonnade couldn't finish the play. Yann Aillaud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brendan Margerit, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the match, marseïlle's goalkeeper Yann Aillaud had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brendan Margerit. Brendan Margerit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 95 minutes of play, Amiens SC's Bertrand Lebert made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yann Aillaud was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amiens SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
