Rouen's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Gallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre-Olivier Ballot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Kosmas Karastathis sped through Morey's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pierre-Olivier Ballot. In the 15th minute, Mathis Violleau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kosmas Karastathis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Morey booed when Rouen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Machard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kosmas Karastathis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pierre-Olivier Ballot having to make a save. A sloppy throw-in by Farid Lemasson in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Rouen's Amancio Aguirre. When the referee ended the match the Rouen players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
