In the 3rd minute Emanuel Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Vast saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Nilvange defense, Hugues Tison kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robert Vast. The Nilvange fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robert Vast should have stopped the shot. 13 minutes into the match, Nilvange's goal looked a bit too open when Nik Tamer came free, but Robert Vast reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Emanuel Munhoz took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Robert Vast to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anatole Jolivet in the 21st minute of play forced Strasbourg ★ Union RC's goalkeeper Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anatole Jolivet in the 21st minute of play. Charles Baudoin struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nilvange. After a defensive mix-up in Strasbourg ★ Union RC's zone, Anatole Jolivet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire came out of the goal and Anatole Jolivet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anatole Jolivet in the 32nd minute of the match. Nik Tamer was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Strasbourg ★ Union RC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Robert Vast made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugues Tison in the 37th minute. Robert Vast made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Hugues Tison sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Emanuel Munhoz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Robert Vast. That made the score 3-1 after 41 minutes of play. Robert Vast showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugues Tison was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nik Tamer in the 51st minute of play forced Nilvange's goalkeeper Robert Vast to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Vast having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Hugues Tison made a precise shot to the right of Robert Vast. Nilvange's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. 70 minutes into the game, Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Emanuel Munhoz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robert Vast made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. In the 73rd minute, Emanuel Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Strasbourg ★ Union RC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Christian Fromage hit a great ball. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Nilvange's Anatole Jolivet. But to his dismay, Anatole Jolivet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. Nilvange's Robert Vast played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nik Tamer in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Hugues Tison left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strasbourg ★ Union RC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-2. The supporters of Strasbourg ★ Union RC booed when Nilvange was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anatole Jolivet didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nik Tamer in the 93rd minute of play forced Nilvange's goalkeeper Robert Vast to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Nilvange's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Munhoz came free, but Robert Vast reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
