The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Darren Teisseire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aldo Ferrario's late challenge caught a La Scaloneta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aldo Ferrario helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Strasbourg ★ Union RC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Ferrario to maneuver through the defense. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Dole in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goalkeeper Ewan Davin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugues Tison. After a rather tough play, La Scaloneta's Jackson Saulnier got a free kick in the 18th minute. With an all-out effort, Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Ewan Davin threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hugues Tison, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Madjid Pauly in the 26th minute of play forced Strasbourg ★ Union RC's goalkeeper Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugues Tison might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ewan Davin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hugues Tison ran back to his position shaking his head. After 30 played minutes La Scaloneta got a freekick which was hit by Chris Falcon. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Dole in the 35th minute of the match. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Madjid Pauly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pierre Dole took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The Strasbourg ★ Union RC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. La Scaloneta were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugues Tison stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, La Scaloneta's Pierre Dole made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jérémie Aubertin kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darren Teisseire in the 60th minute. After 62 minutes, 陶然兴 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strasbourg ★ Union RC and the La Scaloneta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mourad Iglesias charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mourad Iglesias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mourad Iglesias kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Strasbourg ★ Union RC's zone, John Costes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire came out of the goal and John Costes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Madjid Pauly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire having to interfere. Christian Fromage hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, La Scaloneta's Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Moussa Queffelec, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 76 minutes into the game, one of Strasbourg ★ Union RC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire went to the wrong direction when Madjid Pauly was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Madjid Pauly in the 84th minute of play. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darren Teisseire in the 85th minute. After 89 played minutes Strasbourg ★ Union RC got a freekick which was hit by Mourad Iglesias. Hugues Tison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Strasbourg ★ Union RC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. La Scaloneta were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
