Marcio Castaño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eder Abril having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Legionarios FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Pardo to maneuver through the defense. Marcio Castaño struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Eder Abril didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hercules C.F.. Marcio Castaño blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eder Abril having to make a save. Legionarios FC's Eder Abril played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Negri in the 22nd minute of play. In the 26thth minute of the game Eladio Cañadas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hercules C.F.'s Aparicio Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcio Castaños short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Eder Abril to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Marcio Castaño could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Eder Abril made a huge save. Legionarios FC's Eder Abril proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Legionarios FC from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudinei Negri kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eder Abril. That made the score 1-0 in the 33 minute of play. If Marcio Castaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcio Castaño got free with Eder Abril in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Legionarios FC's Eder Abril played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Negri in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xaiver Lorenzo in the 44th minute of play forced Hercules C.F.'s goalkeeper Aparicio Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marcio Castaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xaiver Lorenzo was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcio Castaño in the 51st minute of play forced Legionarios FC's goalkeeper Eder Abril to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 54 minutes, Claudinei Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hercules C.F.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Quijana during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Hercules C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Quijana to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Hercules C.F.'s goalkeeper Aparicio Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eladio Cañadas. With a little luck, Hercules C.F.'s Aparicio Pena got control of the ball when Eladio Cañadas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Legionarios FC booed when Hercules C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan-Alfredo Mendez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Legionarios FC's Cordareo Cuervas got a free kick in the 88th minute. Eder Abril showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Negri in the 91st minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Timo Echavarri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 98 minutes into the game, Hercules C.F.'s Marcio Castaño nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eder Abril made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. There was no doubt that Hercules C.F. were the better team. Hercules C.F.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
