With an extended leg and a bit of luck Poncio Moreno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Eibar Sd getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Artemio Vives hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Demario Abajas in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Poncio Moreno saved Eibar Sd from getting behind. The supporters of Zola Team booed when Eibar Sd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samueil Ettori didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Solana in the 12th minute of play forced Eibar Sd's goalkeeper Poncio Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 played minutes Zola Team got a freekick which was hit by Ponce Aceves. Zola Team were furious when Mustafá Turienzo was red carded, 21 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 21st minute, one of Zola Team:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zola Team. With his leg Emeterio Zárate managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Eibar Sd's Carles Pujo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Emeterio Zárate made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Carles Pujo sent off a good shot on target. Emeterio Zárate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carles Pujo in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Nicholas Olano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emeterio Zárate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Elguero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Igor Elguero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Demario Abajas was the one to do the kick off. If Carles Pujo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Eibar Sd fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zola Team had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
