Carmelo Fresnos might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Camacho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carmelo Fresnos ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Orihuela Deportiva's zone, Moisés Justo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cordarell Fuentes came out of the goal and Moisés Justo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cordarell Fuentes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moisés Justo in the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Juan-Francisco Ecija notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of RCDE's Michael Camacho. Michael Camacho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Juan-Francisco Ecija fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Camacho having to interfere. Carmelo Fresnos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute Miro Etxeberria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Camacho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabi Colillas during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes RCDE got a freekick which was hit by Telmo De la Torre. When Telmo De la Torre fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RCDE's protests and gave Telmo De la Torre a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Telmo De la Torre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carmelo Fresnos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Camacho having to interfere. In the 35th minute Moisés Justo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cordarell Fuentes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38thth minute of the game Juan-Francisco Ecija who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RCDE's Michael Camacho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Juan-Francisco Ecija made the kick off in the second half. Carmelo Fresnos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 52nd minute. Orihuela Deportiva's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. RCDE's Michael Camacho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save RCDE from getting a goal against them. Orihuela Deportiva's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Quico Mayor in the 56th minute. Orihuela Deportiva's Quico Mayor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Michael Camacho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 57th match minute, Orihuela Deportiva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miro Etxeberria to maneuver through the defense. Gabi Colillas struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Cordarell Fuentes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RCDE. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Juan-Francisco Ecija managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orihuela Deportiva's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan-Francisco Ecija was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Camacho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juan-Francisco Ecija sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michael Camacho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan-Francisco Ecija, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, RCDE's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Quico Mayor fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 75 minutes into the game, Quico Mayor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Orihuela Deportiva's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RCDE the free kick. After 75 played minutes Orihuela Deportiva got a freekick which was hit by Quico Mayor. Orihuela Deportiva's Cordarell Fuentes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anacleto Leseduarte in the 76th minute of play. Carmelo Fresnos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 82nd minute, Orihuela Deportiva's Garin Pedraza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Carmelo Fresnos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. RCDE's Michael Camacho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save RCDE from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan-Francisco Ecija in the 90th minute of play forced RCDE's goalkeeper Michael Camacho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cordarell Fuentes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anacleto Leseduarte in the 91st minute of the match. Gabi Colillas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Cordarell Fuentes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cordarell Fuentes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Justo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
