The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hipolito Valentine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Valencia getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. The FC Gualtrapas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaizka Litago should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the match, FC Gualtrapas's goalkeeper Gaizka Litago had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timoteo Leal. FC Gualtrapas's Gaizka Litago proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save FC Gualtrapas from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almarín Pedriza in the 91st minute of play forced Valencia's goalkeeper Primitivo Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valencia's Lobo Fresnos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 96th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gaizka Litago but with some difficulty. The Valencia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Valencia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
