After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Lawrence Murcia managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Barcelona's supporters rose to their feet, but Lawrence Murcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeru Peña breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Otero Saura got free with Zeru Peña in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, FC Barcelona's Zeru Peña threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bertran Barbosa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zeru Peña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertran Barbosa in the 13th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Veremundo Alcantara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xalo Dobale was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. When Aureliano Duarte fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Barcelona's protests and gave Aureliano Duarte a yellow card for diving instead. Columbo Mudarra charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Columbo Mudarra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SPL getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Columbo Mudarra hit a great ball. Corin Aputis was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Xalo Dobale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Veremundo Alcantara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Veremundo Alcantara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xalo Dobale having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bertran Barbosa during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Bertran Barbosa hit a great ball. The supporters of FC Barcelona booed when SPL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcial Benedicto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Veremundo Alcantara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The long shot by Aureliano Duarte in the 43rd minute really tested Zeru Peña's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lawrence Murcia to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Otero Saura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zeru Peña. SPL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otero Saura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The throw-in from Aureliano Duarte in the 59th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SPL's Fidencio Cabezas. In the 62nd minute, Veremundo Alcantara fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Veremundo Alcantara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Isandro Erosa came free, but Xalo Dobale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 69 minutes, Veremundo Alcantara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SPL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Veremundo Alcantara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 71 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Bertran Barbosa. Xalo Dobale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Veremundo Alcantara's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute Prudencio Sánchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeru Peña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xalo Dobale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isandro Erosa in the 76th minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Isandro Erosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SPL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isandro Erosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zeru Peña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otero Saura, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute, Veremundo Alcantara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute, Otero Saura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Barcelona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.
