When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Gerard Santander sped through Izar Gorria's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aniol Carmona. Aniol Carmona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pacho Cerreri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to El Escorial AFC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Anxel Zapatero hit a great ball. Malvin Gómez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 16th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gerard Santander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute Benito Marcilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gentza Santiago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Izar Gorria's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Benito Marcilla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gentza Santiago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. When Dei Manrique came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Izar Gorria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dei Manrique couldn't finish the play. Benito Marcilla was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Benito Marcilla came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Izar Gorria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benito Marcilla couldn't finish the play. When Florentino Sánchez fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Izar Gorria's protests and gave Florentino Sánchez a yellow card for diving instead. Florentino Sánchez kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match.
