After a rather tough play, SPQR's Emiliano Marines got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 18th minute, Lisandro Abancens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by John Gómez during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xicu Contreras couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Rayo Virtudes booed when SPQR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roi Odín didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santi Hevia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jerrold Feliu having to make a save. Bastia Martin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of SPQR echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Rayo Virtudes had held the ball for most of the match.
