The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Efren Garzon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Alvarez in the 18th minute of play. Belmiro Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Efren Garzon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Regis Radaban struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Efren Garzon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vitoria-Gasteiz. After 26 minutes, Rodolfo Irureta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minoritaris and the Vitoria-Gasteiz players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Minoritaris got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Irureta. Minoritaris's Efren Garzon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Pascual in the 27th minute of play. If Ibon Aguilar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Efren Garzon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Alvarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Belmiro Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vitoria-Gasteiz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belmiro Alvarez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Montrel Cameno was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zosimo Vidal during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nastasio Carreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Montrel Cameno's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Regis Radaban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ibon Aguilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute Ibon Aguilar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efren Garzon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Montrel Cameno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Vitoria-Gasteiz left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Minoritaris.
