After a rather tough play, PERSPOLIS's Florin Mala got a free kick in the 18th minute. When Coronel Molina came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Xaloc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Coronel Molina couldn't finish the play. Bela Herrero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Humberto Barba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, PERSPOLIS's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Barba came free, but Dean Grieve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26thth minute of the game Ekialde Nadal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xaloc's Helge Schleie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ekialde Nadal in the 29th minute of play forced Xaloc's goalkeeper Helge Schleie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Toni Herrero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dean Grieve. PERSPOLIS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toni Herrero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Xaloc getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Coronel Molina hit a great ball. Helge Schleie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ekialde Nadal in the 37th minute of the match. Helge Schleie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ekialde Nadal, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ekialde Nadal to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Ekialde Nadal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xaloc's Helge Schleie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th match minute, Xaloc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Coronel Molina to maneuver through the defense. Honorio Carceles charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorio Carceles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Honorio Carceles hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Tommy Rabot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Helge Schleie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. PERSPOLIS made a substitution. Max Thrane replaced Frutos Barrios. That made the score 2-2 after 73 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Barba got free with Dean Grieve in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dean Grieve made an important save on a dangerous shot by Humberto Barba in the 80th minute. In the 85th minute, Humberto Barba reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dean Grieve. The goal made the score 2-3. After some careless play in the Xaloc defense, Cipriano Ganix kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Helge Schleie. The Xaloc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Helge Schleie should have stopped the shot. Tommy Rabot struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Dean Grieve didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xaloc. Xaloc were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
