Sandro Pena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sandro Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Zamora, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute Didier Drogba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, David Zamora took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Sandro Pena to make any attempt to save it. Heliodoro Palacios's late challenge caught a Guardia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heliodoro Palacios helped the player get up and apologised. Heliodoro Palacios kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

In the 52nd minute, Didier Drogba made a precise shot to the right of Sandro Pena. Guardia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Evstati Shushev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Ruiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Guardia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Oscar Mulero.
