After a defensive mix-up in Oscar Mulero's zone, Günalp Talip stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evstati Shushev came out of the goal and Günalp Talip tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didier Drogba in the 7th minute of play forced Iron Maiden FC's goalkeeper Adalberto Nueva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evstati Shushev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Murray, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Didier Drogba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iron Maiden FC's Adalberto Nueva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adalberto Nueva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelmiro Ocaña in the 19th minute of play. The Iron Maiden FC fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Iron Maiden FC's Arın Biçim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Evstati Shushev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Murray in the 28th minute of the match. Günalp Talip recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frances Frost's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Adalberto Nueva firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Didier Drogba in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adalberto Nueva saved Iron Maiden FC from getting behind. After having played for 35 minutes, García Garate managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iron Maiden FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but García Garate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute Günalp Talip shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evstati Shushev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evstati Shushev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Günalp Talip, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Oscar Mulero's Evstati Shushev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Günalp Talip in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Didier Drogba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Fred Iemberge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute Arın Biçim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evstati Shushev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Didier Drogba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Mulero's Eneto Albizua was substituted for Heliodoro Palacios. Iron Maiden FC's Adalberto Nueva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efrain Merexildo in the 71st minute of play. Iron Maiden FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Günalp Talip in the 91st minute. The attack was good, but when Steve Harris in the 92nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Adalberto Nueva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Merexildo in the 93rd minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Iron Maiden FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
