Spectators: 9224 (Terracing: 6919, Seating: 2122, VIP seats: 183) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when J.P. Morgan kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute Roman Zima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Currito Torrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Currito Torrente didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roman Zima went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Currito Torrente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from J.P. Morgan in the 8th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Filomeno Sepúlveda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universitario de deportes's supporters rose to their feet, but Filomeno Sepúlveda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Currito Torrente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Universitario de deportes's Fernando Zangger managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Galsino Barba in the 14 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Zima in the 15th minute of play forced León FC's goalkeeper Currito Torrente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute of the match Universitario de deportes got a corner. León FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jorge Olaechea ran over to the corner to take the kick. Universitario de deportes's Jorge Olaechea was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Currito Torrente in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 18 minutes into the match, Universitario de deportes's goalkeeper Lucas Rallo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martino Escurza. Currito Torrente stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of J.P. Morgan's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Lucas Rallo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iñigo Pedrosa in the 23rd minute of the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Bob Morley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Universitario de deportes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob Morley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Currito Torrente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Zima in the 29th minute of play. Currito Torrente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from J.P. Morgan in the 36th minute of the match. Paco Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Lucas Rallo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucas Rallo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martino Escurza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute J.P. Morgan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Currito Torrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Zima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Currito Torrente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from J.P. Morgan in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iñigo Pedrosa to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martino Escurza in the 51st minute of play forced Universitario de deportes's goalkeeper Lucas Rallo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario de deportes's zone, Martino Escurza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Rallo came out of the goal and Martino Escurza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roman Zima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Currito Torrente made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by J.P. Morgan during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Universitario de deportes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by J.P. Morgan to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Olaechea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Currito Torrente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roman Zima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Currito Torrente made a huge save. If Paco Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. León FC's Sergio Odín was substituted for Paco Sancho. Currito Torrente made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Jorge Olaechea sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute of the match Universitario de deportes got a corner. León FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jorge Olaechea ran over to the corner to take the kick. Currito Torrente made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Filomeno Sepúlveda sent off a good shot on target. León FC's Currito Torrente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save León FC from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the match, León FC's goalkeeper Currito Torrente had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Olaechea. León FC's Currito Torrente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Saboya in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th minute Hugo Saboya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Currito Torrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Zima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Currito Torrente made a huge save. Lucas Rallo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Espiridion Manrique went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. León FC's Currito Torrente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Saboya in the 96th minute of play. Universitario de deportes played a much better game than León FC and deserved their victory. The León FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
