The Aarestrup FV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Klaus Thorball should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Hellevad booed when Aarestrup FV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aake Stephan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute Ditlef Maymann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klaus Thorball saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hellevad's Alan Auerbach got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Visti Chrisberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aake Stephan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Franck Bertramsø quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alan Auerbach stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Visti Chrisberg made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Tommy Harlang sent off a good shot on target. Alan Auerbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Klaus Thorball tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franck Bertramsø kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to Hellevad getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Gerdt Mouritzen hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Aarestrup FV's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Auerbach came free, but Klaus Thorball reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Rainar Simbold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alan Auerbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute.
